KNVIR-25 Phoenix 2.5 Encodable 2-Channel Emergency Beacon

   The KNVIR-25 PHOENIX 2.5 IS A TWO CHANNEL CODED BEACON and is built using the same rugged construction as the other beacons in the Phoenix family. The 2.5 is an enhancement of the KNVIR-15 Phoenix Beacon with two additional features; a pre-installed constant fixed flash rate and two channels for programming. The first channel code is stored in a nonvolatile memory; it activates as soon as the battery attached. The second code is installed as needed by the user in the field. A coin or similar metallic device is used to tap in a Morse Code-like signal. All channels have a six-second memory.

IN SOME SCENARIOS IT MAY NOT BE POSSIBLE TO TAP IN AN EMERGENCY CODE. In these instances, the preplanned emergency signal may be used with little effort. The only action required to transmit the preplanned signal is to attach the battery. To change from the preplanned code to the second channel the user need only tap the pins on top of the beacon, before entering a personal code.

The KNVIR-25 PHOENIX 2.5 IS A TWO-CHANNEL PREPLANNED AND USER PROGRAMMED BEACON. Channel 1, the default channel contains a code preprogrammed in a nonvolatile memory. It activates as soon as a battery is attached. In the field, the user can select Channel 2 using a coin or similar metallic device, then tap in a Morse Code-like signal. Subminiature light emitting diodes (LED), inside the beacon, signal the code as it is installed and tell when the memory is full. These same LED's provide confirmation of both operation and the installed code. To confirm operation short and hold the two pins, while observing the LED's. They will repeat the operating code.
