Dual Beam Aiming LASER

  The powerful DBAL-A2 is power packed with a focusable IR LASER illuminator, an Infrared Aiming LASER Pointer for use with Night Vision Devices, and your choice of a visible Red Super Power Point or visible Green Ultra Power Point Aiming LASER pointer, which is five times more visible than traditional Red LASERS and the maximum allowed by law for maximum daytime visibility. When every second counts, the versatile DBAL-A2 is the right choice for any mission. Designed for maximum operational versatility while keeping the weight down and size to a minimum, the DBAL-A2 is Combat Ready and considered to be the most innovative and multi-functional LASER system on the market today.

 

 

 

 

The DBAL-A2 currently in service by Special Operations Forces  worldwide and is also under contract with the US Department of Defense as the AN/PEQ-15A, features the original housing style with dual activation switches and raised Windage and Elevation adjusters. All other DBAL-A2 models feature a new streamlined housing, improved Windage and Elevation adjusters and a single activation switch. Frequently compared to the plastic-molded AN/PEQ-15, the DBAL-A2 delivers superior operational longevity due to its all metal housing and mounting system.

The new DBAL-A2H is the High-Power Model that offers more unbeatable advantages with the addition of a 200mW IR pointer/illuminator.

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

     The DBAL-A2 is a Class IIIb laser device that features a Visible Pointer for daylight and low light operations, as well as an Infrared Pointer and Infrared Illuminator for use with Night Vision Devices. The IR beams can be operated individually or in combination, in both low power (LO PWR) and high power (HI PWR) settings.
     The DBAL-A2 emits a highly collimated beam of IR light for precise aiming of the weapon and a separate IR Illuminator for the target or target area. The IR Illuminator is equipped with an adjustable bezel to vary the size of the illumination beam based on the size and distance to the target. The Visible Pointer and the IR Pointer are co-aligned. The Visible Pointer can be used to boresight the device without the requirement of a Night Vision Device and will simultaneously boresight the IR Pointer.
     The DBAL-A2 can be used as either a handheld illuminator/pointer or it can be weapon mounted using the Throw Lever Mount. In the weapon mounted mode, it can be used to accurately direct fire as well as illuminate and identify targets.
     When the Safety Screw is installed in the rear of the DBAL-A2 housing, it prevents the operator from accessing the non-eye safe, HI PWR modes of operation.

    DBAL-A2 Major Components

1) Tape Fastener Loop 5/8” (Black) provided to secure the Remote Cable Switch to the weapon in a position convenient to the soldier

2) Tape Fastener Hook ˝" , Black, Remote Cable Switch Pre-attached by the manufacturer to the pressure pad switch.

3) 7" Remote Cable Switch, HI Pressure MOM Remote

4) Optical Instrument Reticle (OIR) (set of 5) used for command and control. When placed in front of the IR Pointer or IR Illuminator that has been focused to a point, they project the shape of a circle ○, square 􀆑, triangle ∆, plus sign +, or T-shape.
The OIR is inserted into the IR Pointer or IR Illuminator aperture of the front cap assembly.
NOTE: Pattern Generators are not designed for accurate aiming of the weapon.

SW POS Marking Use Remarks
1 ON LO PWR On Continuous in Low Power. Activates the selected laser function in LO PWR continuously. DO NOT use in areas where the laser light may be viewed by enemy forces. Primarily used for bore sighting the laser to the weapon in low light conditions.
2 MOM LO PWR Momentary Low-Power. Activates the selected laser function in LO PWR when the Remote Cable Switch or Integrated Momentary Switch is depressed Pressing the pressure pad twice in rapid succession will activate the DBAL-A2 continuously. Pressing the pressure pad again will return the unit to momentary activation
3 OFF OFF The DBAL-A2 will not operate
4 MOM HI PWR Momentary Hi-Power. Activates the selected laser function in HI PWR when the Remote Cable Switch or Integrated Momentary Switch is depressed Pressing the pressure pad twice in rapid succession will activate the DBAL-A2 continuously. Pressing the pressure pad again will return the unit to momentary activation
5 ON HI PWR On Continuous in High Power. Activates the selected laser function in HI PWR continuously. DO NOT use in areas where the laser light may be viewed by enemy forces. Used for higher light levels or for long distance pointing or aiming

1 VIS POINT Visible LASER Pointer. Selects only the VIS POINT for activation. Used for pointing or aiming at close range in daylight or at longer range in low light conditions
2 IR ILLUM Infrared Illuminator. Selects only the IR ILLUM for activation. Used to provide IR illumination of a target or area that is shadowed.
3 IR POINT & ILLUM IR Pointer&Illuminator
Selects both the IR POINT and ILLUM for activation.		 Illuminates the target area and provides an aiming point for purposes of accurately engaging the target with small arms fire.
4 IR POINT IR Pointer
Selects only the VIS POINT for activation.		 Used for pointing and aiming
